After working late into the night we finally completed our final task project.  See you next year Media Studies!!

Editing: The begining!!

Image
Today began the editing process of or final task. I started by getting all the clips together. I then made shared google photos. I uploaded all the slips onto the shared folder. After they were all uploaded, I shared it with Jorge and Christian. I helped Jorge download the editing software on his computer. After that, I gave him a little explanation of everything. He then started editing. He uploaded all the clips to Davinchie resolve. I then assisted him while he began cutting all the footage. We had a lot of dead time between everything to make it easier to get the whole shot in one take.  After cutting the clips the main process was ready to begin.  I guided Jorge through the process of dragging the clips into the editing section.I had the storyboard with me. Using the storyboard I told Jorge what order to put the clips in. We got all the clips put together. We decided that is where we would stop for today. We had to go to sleep as it was getting later. We will finish the proc

Filming: We are done!!!

Today was our second day of filming. Jorge was thankfully able to join us this time. Having the extra person was a big help with filming many scenes. He also offered some helpful insight to different ways to film certain scenes. He also helped me reshoot a few we felt were not good enough. With the Film review feedback, we could fix a few of the issues we faced.  We reshot some films that are looking back on them, were a little silly. We want to make a somewhat more serious type of film so it was important the scenes were not very silly. We also changed the whole ending fight scene. We changed it from multiple troops charging at each other, to a 1 on 1 fight. Overall I felt that this better suited the plot of the film we were making.  I was once again responsible for holding the camera for the scenes. I was also responsible for directing and telling everyone where to go.I also changed the way a few scenes were set up to improve overall flow and quality.  Today unfortunatel

Editing: InShot experimentation

Today I continued the editing process of our film. Our overall plan was for me to begin the process. I took all the footage from our last filming session and uploaded it to the software I planned to use. The app I plan to use is called “InShot.” Our overall plan for editing changed a lot. After talking to a few of my friends who edit things frequently, I came to a decision. I decided to have myself take all the clips and put them together on my phone. I would then add 5-second spaces between each scene. I began this by putting all the videos into the editing application. I ordered them all in the correct order according to the storyboard. Afterward, I began to cut out the sound of the videos. Then I cut and cropped a few clips that needed it. Overall the process didn’t take long. In total, It took me around 30 minutes. I found this method to be much more efficient than the previous one. Splitting the load of editing made doing other work and things much easier. Overall I felt that

Production: Film Review

Image
Today my partners and I showed our film to people to review it. Christian showed it to his parents. Jorge showed it to his sisters. I showed mine to my sister. Overall she thought it was good. She liked the overall movie plot/ concept. She stated our acting was quite “Mid” but we are not professionals. The version that I showed her had 4 second cuts between each scene because It had not been fully edited. The main purpose for those cuts was so Jorge could do the final editing asier. There was some sound added in but once again nothing is final. I find getting input from others is very useful. They can sometimes help you realize how good or bad something is. Oftentimes you believe something to be better or worse than it actually is. Other input is always good. You must also always consider the other person’s input, not ignore it. Everyone has different opinions and views. I am glad this is part of the production process. Taking criticism from others is a very important life skill. Ove

Filming: Good Start

Image
We were finally able to get to the filming process. In the weeks leading up to the filming, we all had different things going on at school and in our own personal lives. I am glad we were finally able to begin. We cleared a good portion of the movie. Of the 18 scenes we had in the storyboard; we got about 12 done. The rest of the scenes were not yet quite finalized to be filmed. We needed more people and more sound ideas.  Filming was overall very fun. A Lot like the music video where we went to a park and had fun. Between scenes, we spent our time chatting and messing around. We all have a lot of memories at that park. I remember going there when I was younger to go kick a soccer ball. It was nice to come back and use it for school purposes years later. It made me feel quite nostalgic.  I was responsible for being the main director of the proceedings. I told everyone where to stand and when to start the scene and when it ended. I am known to have a pretty steady hand so I was chosen b
