CCR

Well we are done finally. I really had a lot of fun working on this project with my classmates. I honestly was skeptical when I got transferred into AICE media but so far I am very happy about my choice. I am really excited to see what comes next, and what my friends and I get to make.

We are done!: Finished Commercial

Image
Well, we have finally finished our commercial. Not that I doubted us in any way but the ad came out way better than I thought it would. It was also lots of fun to make, and I would do it again for sure.    I had a lot of fun throughout the whole process. The filming surprised me the most, it was truly a fun experience. Maybe it was because we could go outside during the day but it was a nice change of pace from the normal day.    The editing was a very influential experience. I learned a lot about the editing process, more than I thought I would from this small project. I kind of want to try editing something myself now.    I would definitely work with this group again. Every single member was fun to work with and contributed their expertise.

Editing: Experimentation

Today was the second day we had in class to edit out commercials together. We began by having Rashawn show us what he had so far. He ended up transferring our work to Adobe Premeair cut Pro so we got to see that program too.    We then began to tinker with the lighting a little bit and ended up settling with more lighting than before. We also experimented with different sounds or music clips but we ended up staying with what we had before.    While watching Rashawn edit we all became curious about how the program he uses worked. I am learning a bit of adobe due to my marketing essentials but only the photoshop aspect. I know next to nothing of Premiere Cut Pro. So Rashawn came up with a proposal. He decided to make us a copy file and we each fiddled around with the software a little bit which was quite fun.    We used the lighting options to put a black and white box over our faces and watched some clips play by, that feature was my personal favorite. We also speed up and slowed

Editing: Ops!

Today was the first of two days my group and I had to edit for our commercial. We got the extra clips we needed over the gap between filming and editing and we were ready to enter the final phase of our project.    As I have stated in previous blogs we are lucky to have Rashawn as our editor. Not only is he a very good editor but he also greatly enjoys it.    We all kind of huddled around Rashawn as he was editing and gave our critiques on parts of the project. We had some minor disagreements with the lighting but everything was sorted out on that end.    One major thing we changed was instead of the Pegasus 38 shoes making fire behind them, they became imbued with lighting. This change was done because fire is harder to edit and honestly the lighting looks better.    I was specifically working with Rashawn on the compiling of the clips to make sure they looked fine running together. It was interesting learning a bit about the editing process myself.    Everything was going smoothly

Filming: Completion!

Today was the second day we were able to film. The first day we got a majority of the shots we needed but there were still a few things we needed.    The first thing we did was go outside to the track like we did the first day. Rashawn showed us what he had edited so far. The clips looked good so far, the lighting was specifically really good looking. Rashawn slightly altered the lighting making the actors pop more.    After we viewed the clips we then retook the shots we needed to. We redid the eye-level shot as I was squinting the first time we took the shot. The second time thankfully I was not blinking and it worked out well. We also redid a shot of us running just in case we wanted to use it.    After that, we helped Rashawn with the editing process. He is the main editor so it mainly consisted of us peering over his shoulder and giving him our ideas.  We got to see a near-complete version of the advert today and it looked very nice. The running scenes look surprisingly realisti
