Filming: It's hot!

Image
Well, today we were finally able to start the filming process for the commercial we had been preparing for. Rashawn, Hadar, Jorge, and I all decided that our location to film at would be the school track/ football field. We decided on this as we felt a track would be best to showcase a specific pair of shoes.  I, unfortunately, forgot one of my workout shirts at home so I had to borrow one from Jorge. I did thankfully wear the right shoes though, they have no visible logo on them, making them perfect for this commercial.  Jorge and I are the main actors in the commercial. We were the two racers, Jorge being the one wearing the advertised shoes(the Nike Pegasus 38). We also had Hadar briefly filling in the role of the finish line and a reporter at the end. When we first got out there we filmed the scene of Jorge and I lining up and stretching as people do before a race. That took a few tries as it was very windy outside and our hair kept covering our faces.  We then filmed us both prep

Storyboard

Slide 1: A news broadcast starts and zooms into the track field. The racers, Jorge and Alex, are going to beat the 100-meter sprint world record. Both racers begin to stretch and prepare themselves for the race. Jorge and Alex give each other competitive gestures, both are mentally and physically prepared for this history-changing event. Slide 2: Both racers ready themselves, ready to pace through the wind. Alex, looking as smug as ever, knows he may have a chance of not only beating Jorge in the race but also beat the world record. Jorge looks determined, he seems like nothing is going to stop him from being beat. The countdown slowly starts at 5. Slide 3: The two contestants are shown giving each other a stare. It is supposed to give the audience a sense of tension and anticipation for the race. After that, the contestants both get in their positions to take off and run. The scene will end with the countdown getting to 0, making them start.   Slide 4: The scene begins with them havi

Commercial Research

We decided to do a commercial for NIKE. Specifically, we decided on the Air zoom Pegasus 38 shoes(Mainly because Jorge has a pair). Most NIKE ads show people participating in some form of physical activity like running or playing soccer, really anything they would wear shoes for.  In all the ads we watched the actors wore sporty clothing to further emphasize the activity that this is equipment meant for sport.  The actors often appear sweaty and out of breath. Oftentimes their skin is glistening, further emphasizing their participation in the activities.  Oftentimes there are fast-paced upbeat songs used to convey excitement and energy. It is meant to motivate.  The props usually vary between the ads as the actions taking place often vary greatly. Sometimes there might be a NIKE brand ball or NIKE Clothing, the list goes on and on. Conventions and Codes: Through the ads, the one major thing that remains consistent is the inclusion of the famous NIKE phrase: “Just do it.” The main rea

For the first project we were assigned I decided to work in a group. My group consists of Jorge Lopez, Hadar Kotzer, and Rashawn Granderson.    I typically like working in group settings because I feel like the different perspectives help provide a better final product. Obviously, I have had group projects in the past that were not so stellar experiences but I feel as this project will go much more smoothly. Being able to choose groups is very nice as opposed to the teacher deciding.    Jorge Lopez, I have known for many years. We first became friends in the 5th grade and stayed friends all throughout middle school. We ended up going to the same high school together and spent much of last year in discord calls together along with another friend, but that is a story for another day. I have done projects with Jorge in the past and he is very good at coming up with creative ideas. He is also very funny but not overly distracting in a group setting.    I first met Hadar Kotzer on the bu

Introduction

Hello to whoever is reading this, I am Alex Rapanos and I am in the 10th grade. I was transferred into this class after my AICE business class was dissolved, though I did choose this class so It's not like I was forced into it. I decided to try this class because I am a big fan of movies and shows.     My favorite art form is easily animation, and I have been watching animated shows and movies for as long as I can remember. Some of my personal favorite animated shows and movies are Todardora, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Fate: Zero, Bojack Horseman, We Bear Bears, and Cowboy Bebop. Some of my favorites, Your Name, Garden of Words, and Ratatouille. Some non-animated movies and shows I like are Fawlty Towers, Mind Your Language, Interstellar, and The Pink Panther series. I also really like reading books, with my favorite one being a Light Novel called: "5 Centimeters Per Second."    Another aspect of movies and shows I love is the OST or Original Sound Track. Some of my
