Editing: Ops!

   Today was the first of two days my group and I had to edit for our commercial. We got the extra clips we needed over the gap between filming and editing and we were ready to enter the final phase of our project. 

  As I have stated in previous blogs we are lucky to have Rashawn as our editor. Not only is he a very good editor but he also greatly enjoys it. 

  We all kind of huddled around Rashawn as he was editing and gave our critiques on parts of the project. We had some minor disagreements with the lighting but everything was sorted out on that end. 

  One major thing we changed was instead of the Pegasus 38 shoes making fire behind them, they became imbued with lighting. This change was done because fire is harder to edit and honestly the lighting looks better. 

  I was specifically working with Rashawn on the compiling of the clips to make sure they looked fine running together. It was interesting learning a bit about the editing process myself. 

  Everything was going smoothly but the school wifi kept cutting out. One time it cut out we went back to open the program and the whole project was gone with nothing left behind except the few clips we had on our phones. We were scrambling to get the work back because Rashawn had put a lot of effort into editing it. 

  Thankfully we did get it back but it was still downloading and only finished a few hours ago after school had ended, so the whole bus ride home I was anxious to see what happened to our project. But all worked out in the end thankfully. 

     The editing process was also more fun than I had imagined it being, another pleasant surprise from this project. My group and I were very happy with the way it turned out today. Tomorrow Jorge, Hadar, and I plan to take a stand-still shot of the shoes at my house after the Personal Study Day ends, other than that I think we are all set. Though for the next one I might have to learn to edit for myself.


 The picture I have below is a slipping man, as we had a few accidental slip-ups today.

       For the second project we were assigned I decided to work in a group. My group consists of Jorge Lopez, and Christian Bundalevski. I typically like working in group settings because I feel like the different perspectives help provide a better final product. Obviously, I have had group projects in the past that were not so stellar experiences but I feel as if this project will go much more smoothly. Being able to choose groups is very nice as opposed to the teacher deciding.  Jorge Lopez, I have known for many years. We first became friends in the 5th grade and stayed friends all throughout middle school. We ended up going to the same high school together and spent much of last year in discord calls together along with another friend, but that is a story for another day. Production: The final Blog!!!, Film completed !!!

  Working on a short film with a team for class can be both exciting and challenging. You get to collaborate with your classmates and bring your creative visions to life. However, it can also be stressful at times, especially when the deadline is approaching. We kinda cut it a little close but we made it!! But after weeks of hard work and countless late nights, we finally finished our short film! It was an incredible feeling to see our ideas come to life on screen. We were all proud of what we had accomplished together. There were many different roles within our team, from writing the script to filming and editing. We all had to work together and communicate effectively to make sure everything was on track.
